Forever Cool with Perverse Sunglasses (Plus The Winner of The Giveaway + Some More Good News)

By Sola Onitiri

This probably won't come as a shock to anyone who's familiar with my verbose writing style and love of anything cheesy and over the top, but I am a GIANT musical theater nerd. There, I said it, glad that's off my chest. Musicals, whether on screen or on the stage, played a large role in what I thought was fashionable. For instance, when I was a kid (much to my parent's chagrin) I watched Grease pretty regularly. Not for John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, or the now questionable gender morals in the film. I watched Grease for The Pink Ladies and more specifically the bad girl of Rydell High School herself - Rizzo.

The tight pencil skirt, the signature jacket, the cigarette dangling from her mouth, and the way she looked in her sunglasses when she throw's shade at Sandy's summer romance (#CauseHeSoundsLikeADrag) is EVERYTHING. Rizzo isn't the only fictional character with an iconic sunglasses forward look. From Audrey Hepburn's cat eye sunglasses in Breakfast at Tiffany's to the classic Ray Bans worn in The Blues Brothers, Sunglasses are the key to making any outfit cool. Because the right pair of sunnies can turn a walk into a strut, an outfit into a signature look, and a look into an icon. All of that to say. I've found a pair of sunglasses that made me feel like Rizzo and Audrey with a dash of Rihanna and YOU have the opportunity to grab a pair too.
