The Biggest Fashion Trends Coming Your Way in 2018

New Year, best you!

Here at Let's Get Going, we are determined to make this year your most ICONIC year yet, so you know we had to hook it up with the Style Toolkit. This go around, we're giving you a peek at what's coming up in the world of fashion in 2018. And what better place to trend search but the Spring 2018 RTW runway shows. Granted, not everyone can afford to drop their Versace on the floor, but that shouldn't stop you for taking in some style inspiration. We're also sharing our LGG Suggestions on how to style these looks for everyday as opposed to the runway. Here are the top fashion trends of 2018.

The 80s are back and there's not a damn thing you or I can do about it. As a long time lover of big shoulder pads and the iconic movie Working Girl, power suits coming back are pretty much my dream come true.

LGG Style Suggestion: Look out for color and structure. Pick something vibrant and take a gamble on oversized blazers or double breasted details.

Can you believe that we live in a time where people are casually wearing berets? I'll give you a moment to let that sink in and then a few more moments to go throw one in your online shopping cart. Between the beret and the super sleek razor thin cat-eye sunglasses your 2018 look will be tres chic.

LGG Style Suggestion: Let your accessories do the talking. Match your beret and sunglasses with an oversized sweater, over the knee boots, and a neck scarf for god measure.

Now there's two ways to do this look. Minimally, which pretty much just means plastic or vinyl boots. Or maximally, like Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, or me on one of my more extra days. That means visible, colorful vinyl accented by big sleeves or cuffs.

LGG Style Suggestions: Plastic does not fall under the category of comfortable or functional fashion. I can't believe I'm saying this but practice caution with this look.

Sheer intentions

The forecast for spring calls for romantic sheer embellishments - and we are LIVING. You're going to have a lot of options where sheer is concerns this year so make sure you keep variety in mind. Think length. For drama think long sweeping lines. Going for sexy, then snatch a romper.

LGG Style Suggestion:  Your undergarments will make or break your sheer look. Don't feel like you need the most intricate lace bralet to pull off a sheer look. Get creative. Try a onesie tank with high waited pants or a graphic T.

The fringe that you will be seeing this year isn't the thick suede fringe of 2013. Far from it in fact. The fringe coming your way in 2018 is a thin, wispy detail used for texture and movement rather than dramatic southwestern effect.

LGG Style Suggestions: Started from the bottom now we here. Look for fringe that hangs from the hem. Try and avoid arm fringe. However, if you're feeling extra saucy look for asymmetric hemlines.
